Bike Shack is a conceptual e-commerce store selling bikes, gear, and accessories — but this project was more than just a store build. It was part of an intensive JavaScript course for Shopify developers, designed to push my technical abilities and deepen my understanding of Shopify’s APIs, CRO best practices, and advanced theme development techniques.

Project Brief

The goal of the Bike Shack project was to create a fully functional Shopify store while focusing on improving custom coding skills, experimenting with CRO-driven layouts, and building interactive, dynamic features from scratch. It became an opportunity to work with Shopify’s Ajax API, explore GraphQL queries, and master section rendering for a smoother, app-like user experience.

Enhance Shopify Development Skills– Practice writing custom JavaScript and Liquid code for real-world use cases.

Learn Shopify APIs– Work hands-on with Ajax API and GraphQL for dynamic data fetching and rendering.

Master Custom Functionality– Implement custom contact forms, dynamic carts, and interactive experiences.

Set up a clean theme base for experimentation and modular section development.

Structured collections and product pages for optimal navigation and filtering.

Step 2

Built dynamic testimonial sliders pulling data from metafields.

Created interactive product quizzes to guide users toward the right bike or accessory.

Developed custom contact forms with conditional logic for better lead capture.

Step 3

Worked extensively with Shopify Ajax API to enable seamless add-to-cart experiences without page reloads.

Queried Shopify GraphQL API to dynamically render product data and update UI in real time.

Learned section rendering techniques for instant page updates, enhancing performance and UX.
